Walk and talk!

There are several walkingtours around Marbella. This photo is from our favourite area and typical small spanish village; Istán. In the village of Istán, situated in the mountains slightly west of Marbella, life goes on as always before. De older ladies sit on the doorsteps and chat with passin pedestrians. The older men sit in nearby benches, talking to each other. It is if time stands still, and a pleasant calmness rests over the village.

Here you will find a charming walking trail, with different stretches to wonder about. Here are the directions to the walking trails: As you enter the village there is only one road that leads through the village, follow that road until you almost exit the village, there you will find a waterfall.

Park your vehicle here and you will see the paths, there are different paths with different lengths and difficulties. When your walk comes to an end, some tapas or lunch is always appropriate. We recommend the restaurant Entreseirras (in-between mountains), which is located in the centre of the village with a magnificent view of the valley.

In both the beginning and the end of the walk, you can find natural water sources were the spring water flows directly from the mountains. Bring along a empty water bottle and fill up!

The Paseo Maritimo (beachwalk) in Marbella stretches from the center in Marbella to Puerto Banús. Its a lovely walk with a breathtaking view. It takes about one hour and a half to walk all the beachwalk from the center of Marbella to Puerto Banús. Its a breathtaking view all the way and during weekends and holidays its nearly crowded. In summer its to hot to walk all the way to Puerto Banús, but there are several nice small bars and restaurants situated directly on the beach. There are also several beach clubs where its possible to hire a sun chair and a towel.

Alhambra, Granada

The Alhambra is a Monumental Ensemble of Historical-Artistic Monuments created over more than six hundred years by cultures as different as The Muslim, the Renaissance or the Romantic culture. The view of the Gardens of the Alhambra, the sound of the wind blowing through the trees together with the sounds of the water, isolate the surrounding noise; and a visit becomes an unforgettable experience.

In 1984 the Alhambra and the Generalife was declared World Heritage sites by UNESCO. Book in advance, an average of 6 000 visitors traipse through the site each day.
